A very warm welcome!
My aspiration to serve as an international director comes from my purpose in life, which is to Optimize Our Human Excellence. I am passionate about making this world a thriving place for all humans. After joining Toastmasters, I realized the life-changing impact of Toastmasters not only on my life, but hundreds of thousands of many like yourselves. Over ten years ago, I could not imagine that Toastmasters would solidify my purpose in life and give me strength to continue advancing our human excellence.
Therefore, as an International Director and working ambassador of Toastmasters, I want this transformative opportunity to be extended to millions of people around the world. Our world and life, since 2020, has changed in surprising ways. Let us work collaboratively on strategies aligned with new realities to Engage, Elevate, Excel and Optimize Our Human Excellence!
I am looking forward to connecting with you in this excellence journey.
Thank you for your time and support.
Farzana Chohan, DTM, DL5
International Director, Region 5 ILC nominated candidate,
Humbly asking for your honorable vote to serve our organization.
Continue your path of excellence!
Farzana had the honor to serve on several boards, including:
Women in Healthcare (WIH)
- Mentorship Committee Co-Chair (developed a multi-year organizational program)
- Advisory Board member of international chapter in Canada
Human Development Foundation, (HDF)
-Board member
Farzana's significant strategic planning strength comes from her experience working on projects and initiatives of high complexity. Working on projects like cardio-thoracic unit, kidney center, neo-natal unit, cancer center and micro-photonics labs requires strategic planning and operational effectiveness.
In non-profit leadership roles, Farzana has worked on educational, financial, mentoring and community development policies and processes. She worked on developing a policy, at the international level, for a mentoring program for the Women in Healthcare (WIH) organization.
Finance plays a critical role in profit and non-profit projects and programs. Farzana has managed the finances of multi-million-dollar projects. She understands financial statements, including cash flow, balance sheets and expenses as they are imperative for the financial health of an organization.
The complexity of healthcare projects has provided Farzana with the excellent experience of focusing on the larger picture of a master plan while ensuring that smallest of detail is considered to save the life of each patient.
I believe in the power of human excellence and how supporting each other helps makes us successful, both individually and collectively. I use this concept to connect the dots of the big picture in my life’s journey, while serving in various leadership roles in Toastmasters.

I believe in the power of human excellence and how supporting each other helps makes us successful, both individually and collectively. I use this concept to connect the dots of the big picture in my life’s journey, while serving in various leadership roles in Toastmasters.
I have worked as a professional architectural leader and a founder of an advocacy platform for leadership in Science, Technology Engineering and Math (STEM). I continually strive to develop as a person and therefore earned a doctoral degree based on my research in mentoring. I am also a published author.
I understand that it is an honor and privilege to serve as a leader. Serving with excellence requires us to enhance our skills in areas of emotional intelligence, empathy and relatability. I have learned that these are the key components of a servant leader.

My extensive leadership opportunities have taught me that regardless of our professional titles, business or volunteer work, I (and we) must be Human Centered.
Being a leader is a profound responsibility. As a leader we have to get work done, requiring that leaders:
- Add value to the project/program
- Listen carefully
- Communicate their vision clearly
- Integrate the multidisciplinary team
- Be mindful of human emotions
- Develop personal relationships with team members
- Build a team through relationship development
Above all, we must be authentic-humble leaders.
